Chateau Tronquoy is a very nice medium sized chateau in the region of Medoc near St. Estephe. We had booked the English tour but our B&B host arranged for us and a Swiss couple to get a German tour. Our guide was the best. He did our tour as if he did this every day - but he doesn't. He was our guide because he spoke German fluently but he wasn't a regular tour guide. Still he was all we could have asked for and we absolutely reccomend him. His German was impeccable. He explained everything to us in detail, from the vineyards to the whole wine making process. He was very patient and answered all our questions. The tasting afterwards covered so many details about each wine as well. The guide - unfortunately we forgot his name otherwise we would mention it over and over - took an incredible amount of time for us. Overall, it was a great experience!

Our visit to Château Tronquoy-Lalande was full of information on history of the family, the vineyard and the wine making process. It was a rainy day and we were greeted at the door so felt expected and welcome. We know so much more now about wine making. And the wine itself was wonderful - we left with several bottles. Highly recommend a visit here!
